Nothing stupidly expensive - it's easy to piss money away. I'm wondering if anybody has had any good experiences with anything in particular...

Ede and Ravenscroft would do you a 2-piece for around £550. Throw in a cummerbund and you're done.

I'm selling one of my Cerruti dinner suits soon (nice as it is, I've gone down to a 38) and was thinking of putting the money towards something slightly nicer. The only problem with Ede is that I have heard less than encouraging reports about the quality of the clothing...

If you need to ask, then Marks and Spencer.

Agree. Take a look at M&S. I got one which is a collaboration betwen Timothy Everest with M&S. Serves me all right for the very rare black tie events which I attend.

I can't speak for jackets, but the trousers (made in Italy) and the shirts and coats (made in England), are very nice indeed.

I might give them a punt. Seems the most appropriate place. Want something slightly more upmarket than M&S, I think.

No personal experience, but I do like the look of Pakeman Catto and Carter's dinner jackets, especially the double-breasted:

I've always been partial to the 4x1 configuration.

I know that suit supply doesn't get much love around here, but they offer a tuxedo with peak grosgrain lapels, one button (but side vents) für 259 GBP.
