Best option for graduation suit?

I've just come back from vacation completely forgetting I have my graduation this Thursday!

I was planning to wear an old suit I had but tried it on today and both the jacket and trousers are too small as I have added some muscle.

Anyway I realize I probably won't have time to get a suit tailored properly so what would be my best choice?

I had a look at some sites such as Asos but the sale items are usually in odd sizes. I'm hesitant to pay a lot of money for a suit I will likely not wear again as I would rather spend more on getting a suit tailored for me at a later date!

I'm living in the UK so please bare this in mind!

What would you guys recommend? Thanks

Just get whatever suit you would buy otherwise, get the pants hemmed - shouldn't take more than a day - and leave any other tailoring for later. You might look a little sloppy, but you will undeniably be wearing a suit. You might even find a store that will put a rush on tailoring to make the sale.

Alternatively get H&M separates and you can burn them after the ceremony. The ones over here (US) tend to be skinny, but they probably have something you can get in.

Muscle and OTR don't mix that well. Good luck!

Go to Marks and Spencer and get something that fits. You have no time to mess about with on line and their quality is fine.

If you have actually forgotten you graduation, it will be a lesson not to forget things - it will be an interview next!

Thanks!

I will go to the outlet tomorrow, would you recommend any specific colors? My gown is just plain black with a red stripe thing at the back

Gray for some contrast. Definitely not black as you'll look like Dracula, and most true navy suits look almost black in all but the best light, so go with mid gray.
