Do you mean Iconic as of Brand Iconic? Or Iconic as in sunglass Iconic?
example: T sign on TF is Brand Iconic, Ray Bane - Pilots are sunglass Iconic.

Ps. I also like Chrome Hearts with their fading colors and silver details, but very heavy.
Dita & Mykita are also nice, but as mentioed a 50$ shade can look nicer when it fits your face than a $500/$1500 shade.

I posted this earlier in this thread, but "I probably should have said iconic, unique, cool, etc. sunglasses, but it doesn't look like I can edit my Title now."

For example, something along the lines of the famous Matsuda Sunglasses from Terminator 2.

I'm not sure about the Brand Iconic. Is there a link?

Chrome Hearts is interesting. Are all of the models heavy?

I thought of Ed Hardy Sunglasses. I like his art, but I wonder if those Sunglasses emphasize form over function.

In my opinion, Persol is quite iconic, although as Thin White Duke said above, there are sunglasses that fit a certain face shape better than others. That's why I find it difficult to change styles when it comes to eyewear, prescription glasses, or sunglasses. For me the best fitting eyewear is rectangular, so this can be stretched only so far. there are some shapes that just don't look good on me.

For instance, the original Persol 649 is bulky, and the PO9649S fits better. The frame and the temples are not so thick, feels like "lighter" sunglasses, not so bulky.

Now I am considering buying this one, but I don't know if it is worth paying for expensive sunglasses when I will have to get a prescription for them, so I will be paying for good lenses that will be substituted by the prescription lenses:
Maybe Persol 649 sunglasses look good, but I am a big fan of Gucci luxury sunglasses, and highly recommend you try any Gucci luxury sunglasses. There are many websites available on google...

Thanks, but I do not like Gucci sunglasses. I think that brand does not look good on most people.... many Gucci sunglasses are bulky and the brand logo looks tacky, in my opinion...

There's nothing innovative about the Gucci product (in the way of materiality or innovation like Theo Eyewear etc. It's all heavily derivative of vintage styles that everyone offers, and variations of some of their older iconic (Sophia Loren-look) sunglasses.

It looks like Gaultier Sunglasses aren't being made anymore, right? jdgershbein can you post photos of your Gaultier, and Custom-Made Eyewear?

A little late in responding, but here is a pair of Gaultier sunglasses I bought back in the early 90s and I just stumbled upon them tonight. A bit dated, but some cool design details. Yes, those are actual springs. The arms still pop open slight pressure, even after years of being folded and in their case. Sorry, I should have cleaned the lenses before taking pix, but I was in a hurry.

Frankly, so are the frames from JMM (and I am a fan of JMM).

JMM frames are also too bulky for me. I do not think that brand is stylish.. but it seems to be heavily promoted everywhere..

I am a big fan of Persol these days. In addition to the the classic black or tortoise shell it's nice to see them doing a bit more with other colors. I picked these up on sale last year. I really liked the mix of the dark blue and just the lower half having tortoise shell. I also didn't have any sunglasses with blue lenses so they are a bit different in that respect too.
