I currently wear a short to medium length faux hawk hairstyle, and I use Crew's Fiber, and I'm wondering if there are better products for my purpose

ANY Suggestions???

PS. OH yeah I also have Gatsby Moving Rubber, the pink one

I also have this sort of hairstyle, though I hate the name because I think it makes me sound like a douche...

I use to use fiber but yeah it sucks for this. The bright green Bedhead works great though. It is soft and very nice. I have a widows peak and thinning hair so this style really works well for me. The downside to bedhead is that sometimes the product starts turning brown and gross in the tin. I don't know what it is... I tried switching to the green paste that crew makes but it just doesn't get the job done. Better go with bedhead and make sure you close it tight when you're not using it.

I hope this helps...

American Crews Pomade would be better. You need something lighter that wont build up as much thickness and volume like the fiber does.

Wipe it down with an oily rag or some kerosene.

Hang around smokers.

I wouldn't use any product to do anything like that, but you could use bedhead's master manipulator (the stuff in the green tub). It's like a goo, it smells like zymol car wax (same color too) and it's a bit heavy if you apply it wet. I find damp/dry hair takes it best, blow dry it out and whatever you did, it'll hold.

Bedhead also has a paste called Hard to Get that might work well as well. I use it to get a bit of texture into dry hair, but it also holds well. Not as well as manipulator, but it's also much lighter and i don't have the time or desire to blow dry.

Most guys look like a tool with this hair style. Some are able to pull off a VERY subtle faux hawk. But those guys are few and far between.

It's the hairstyle that's making you a douche, not the name by which the hairstyle is known.
