Kind of a dumb question, but I often find myself skipping eating because I don't like eating messy stuff in the car and in a hurried morning eating is something I can cut out. But those days always end up being 4-5 hours before I can get away to eat something. So I need to stock up on some kind of energy bars, or whatever, that I can eat while driving. This means nothing crumby/sticky/drippy/etc., no fiddly wrappers, and so on. I used to get Clif bars but I think I reached my limit after eating about 1000 of them. I'll get some more since some are still edible, but most things like that gross me out. Does anyone have any recs for this type of food that I can just go buy a gross of, and put in the car, in my bag, in the house, etc. and not have to think about it anymore?

Agreed on the Clif bar thing. They taste fine for the first 100, then you can't even look at them without feeling sick.

I'd say just keep some fresh fruit around... and dried fruit. Lots of nuts and dried fruits are full of stuff that'll keep you feeling full at least long enough to hold you over.

I'm sometimes in the same problem. My solution: keep a small stock of nuts and whole wheat crackers in the office, and occasionally fruit.

Boiled egg. Small enough to just stuff into your mouth.

Protein, vitamins, etc.

I like a bagel sandwich with cream cheese. There's a bit of crumbiness but no big deal. I love Tim Horton's because if you order a bagel with cream cheese, they'll make it into the sandwich for you.

Apples. I eat them all the time. Just bring a paper napkin or paper towel to wrap up the core until you get a chance to throw it away. Also nuts (almonds, cashews) in a small zip lock bag.
