100% agreement. He would have made a good 007, IMO. OTOH, I can't see him saying "Oh the things I do for England" at the end of Thunderball (IIRC) while he is removing the dress from a woman.

Not a character per se ,but a detailed survey of elite Edwardian style see:

Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines (1965) with a stellar cast
that wear a wide variety of period clothing -1912

Among the standouts are Terry-Thomas, Robert Morley, James Fox,
Alberto Sordi, Jean-Pierre Cassel, etc.

I tried on a $5 pair of these in Wal Mart tonight while picking up some groceries and a birthday card. Other than the missing logo on the lens, You really couldn't tell the difference by looking at them.
