How about half of whatever camera you bought after the thread you started December 1st, 2008?

Used might be a good option since $100 cameras that aren't heavily discounted are crap. You would be much better off with last years model on closeout marked way down to $100 than whatever you could get for retail or generic "sale" price for $100

Depends a little on what you are looking for...but I tend to think that Canon's point and shoots are the way to go across the board until you get to the funky esoteric models (that all cost more than $100 anyways) I have a SD1200IS and it looks like amazon has the SD1300IS for a pinch over $100 depending on color choice: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...9HAPZ52GCZEW8Z My 1200IS takes some pretty good pictures for the size/price although it can get a bit noisy in low light (although really, I am comparing this to an S95/G10/dSLR...compared to the S500 or whatever I had before that, the SD1200IS is still great). Battery lasts *forever* and the thing squeezes into tiny pockets without issue. The image stabilization works pretty well too...I quite like it. The only reason I don't like it is because I want to switch to an S95 (for 3x the money) and not bother with the dSLR anymore.

Interested in lightly used Fuji F20? 5 years ahead of its time (approx 1 year old) - takes great night photos. Comes with charger and 2 memory cards.

There are about a million perfectly fine 12-14mp compacts on the market that run between $90 and $120. There's no reason to buy a used compact these days.
