I'm currently the leading bidder for a ridiculously expensive item at a ridiculously low cost. To avoid competition, I'm not going to mention the item until the auction has ended. Ha.

Got me thinking as to what kind of steals and deals people have come up with...

Thoughts?!

I just got a pair of second-hand C&Js for £25 Buy It Now, which I was quite chuffed with. They were listed as 'Rocket And Jones' (sic)

I'll take some pics as I could do with someone identifying the style/last.

a while back, i got a brand new santoni fatte a mano shoe for really cheap. brand new.

i saw the auction and immediately contacted the seller if i can buy it now for a certain price ( a hundred over his ridiculously low price; im not sure if he knew the actual cost of the shoes and the market price for them) and he complied, took down the auction and sold it to me.

it was the sweetest shoe i could remember getting at such a low ridiculous price

I got a very slight used Kiton suit (from Richard's) which was no more than 1-2 yrs old in a solid charcoal diamante fabric for 75 bucks buy-it-now. I must have come across the auction 2 minutes after it was listed. Pic was terrible in the listing but decided what the hell.

I've always been hesitant to order used jackets/suits off of ebay because of the previous tailoring that may have been done to the garment. Even if something is the right size, it may be tailored to someone with a very different body type.

Back when I was a dealer (on the side) of vintage furnishings, I bought a chair on ebay for $250 and then resold it to a collector/client for $3000.

Some might not consider this a "deal," but I bought my wife a Prada crocodile bag (yes, authentic) a couple of years ago on ebay for a little under a grand, when the retail price was $10-12k. If the seller had bothered mentioning croc in the auction title, I'm sure it would have gone for more.

The level of hustling on here is hilarious. Selling items for 10 times what you paid

I have a short memory so I wouldn't remember the best ever - but just last week got a Corneliani-made RL sport coat for $8

I once got a RL black label suit for 349 , nwt in a size 40. The seller sold a lot of "Lauren by.." and the green label RL suits, and probably didnt know about the black label suits real value. a great purchase, but these deals are getting rare.
