1. I'd like to announce that animated avatars are now available again. You'll have to reload, but they are once more possible.

We've been doing a ton of work behind the scenes. The site load speed was already under 1/2 of what Huddler's was, on average, and we installed cloudflare, which means that the site should be even faster. A ton more will go on in the weeks and months to come, and some things will be more visibile, and some less.

    Cheers,

I'm planning on buying a classic trench coat, but my budget isn't very high. Preferably, something under $500 would be nice. I prefer something that is fitted, which is opposite to Banana Republic.

So, I definitely cannot afford a Burberry Trench. Although, I do want to know if Burberry have huge markdowns on their classic trenches during Christmas Sales?

Your suggestions are very much appreciated.

After Christmas sales... I saw Burberry trenches on the 9th floor of Saks in NYC for $350. Of course, those will be the bottom ranges of Burberry....usually the Burberry Brit line made of poly-cotton. Your best bet is to find a Burberry outlet.

Look up the locations here: http://forum.purseblog.com/burberry/burberry-outlet-locations-in-us-info-219988.html

    and here: http://www.handbags-n-guides.com/burberryoutlet.html

And of course check ebay. Some trusted sellers occasionally offer screaming good deals on legit Burberry trenches that are a season or two old. I just got a cotton shell/wool lined trench for $500.

If you have no luck, rugby ralph lauren does a decent looking trench: http://www.rugby.com/shop/item.aspx?productId=11796455&categoryId=3138718&cp=3138868 When that puppy goes on sale....it will go quickly. A cotton shell and cotton lining (mid grade. Low end uses polyester. The better ones are cotton wool, and the best are wool gabardine) for $250 retail is the best I've seen.

I can find Ralph Lauren in Canada (Toronto), but do you know if Aquascutum or Prorsum are both available? Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Those trenches look really good, and less expensive than Burberry.

I feel I must point this out but, Prorsum is the highest-end line of Burberry. Unless there is a brand called Prorsum I am unaware of?

Under $500 and Gabardine? = London Fog. They're bulletproof, have a removable lining, and cost only a fraction of the cost of an Aquascutum or Burberry. Less headaches worrying about someone stealing it.,

Practicality should trump fashion when it comes to things like trench coats.

If you're looking to go ultra cheap like I did, Uniqlo has some great trenches for $150. They come in single or double breasted, and black, tan, or navy (though it looks like the website only has a few of the colors listed):

I purchased the double breasted in navy about a week ago in the NYC store, and they had both single and double breasted in all 3 colors. I believe they all have a quilted liner vest that you can button in for warmth.

If you call the store they are very helpful and will even put your desired color/size on hold for you. I don't know if they will ship to you but you could always get someone in NYC to proxy for you. If you are a size "small" PM me and i can send you the measurements from mine. (if you can't tell, i'm more than satisfied with mine...)
