not from me(other than maybe This Way for the Gas, Ladies and Gentlemen - though it's a bit tangential to the topic), so I would also be curious to see what others would recommend

I feel I need to educate myself about WWII. Any recommendations?

That's a big question. Do you mean causes and politics? Do you mean the details of campaigns and military history? Are you more interested in the war in Europe, the Middle East And Africa, or the Pacific War? Or everything?

Throw in a couple episodes of McHale's Navy and you will be pretty well-versed

Seriously though, Rick Atkinson's Liberation Trilogy is a good start for European theater from US perspective...

Big subject with lots of literature. I don't know of any single definitive volume...

If you want to read about combat operations in Africa & Europe from a US perspective, I second Rick Atkinson's Liberation Trilogy.

(p.s. I've been waiting years for this...)

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
