I am referring to the ones you posted immediately prior to my response. If you ask me I can't see how looks are in any way separable from quality. If you simply want a high quality shoe that will last you for your entire lifespan without regard to the way they look then get yourself a pair of Doctor Martins, put up with the comparisons to Lurch, and be done with it. Other than that, I don't care how well it is made, an ugly shoe is an ugly shoe and I wont buy it.

I browse the B&S forums every once in a while and remembered these. You're pretty lucky as new pairs of C&J on there are fairly rare.

Dr. Martens have there place with jeans and a t-shirt. I am looking for something that I can wear with a variety of modern suits. And when I refer to quality I mean something that is made by a skilled cobbler in a shop that has strict quality control not a synthetic soled shoe that any manufacturer could make.

You can't really separate design (looks) from quality as people that pay for high-quality shoes generally want them to not be ugly.

Then looks ought to definitely be important. Otherwise you will simply be the guy who wears ugly shoes.

Same thing in Dubai. You'll see someone walking about in a Corneliani suit and a pair of square toed, rubber soled, monstrosities. No joke.

Maybe some people? The SMs for $360 are just as good, if not better than the CJ benchgrade. That's a very solid made pair of shoes for only $360. They retailed for $1K.

Note: don't forget the SMs are new

I really don't think those N.D.C. shoes that I linked are ugly at all and they are far from square toed monstrosities. But I would never buy a pair of shoes that I thought were ugly.

Do you have any experience with SM sizing? Are they TTS? Also are the ones I linked good year or blake last? Thanks for the website suggestion which brands on that website do you suggest? I like these ones http://www.virtualclotheshorse.com/...=1082471&category_id=81083253317#.UVFSS1sjojc

Also are the Peal & Co. C&J shoes any different from regular C&J shoes in terms of quality?
