1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

People who say things like that usually only see big blockbuster films.

If you can't find one nice thing to say about the many talented actors there are today, then you probably don't know much about film at all.

As over-exposed and -celebrated as he is, the movies I've seen Jude Law in ain't been bad: Talented Mr Ripley, Existenz, Breaking and Entering...
How old is he he? Late 20s?

He was terrific in Road to Perdition, as well.

He's a bit past my generation, but I'm surprised that nobody's mentioned Daniel Day Lewis. He's really the only reason Gangs of New York was watchable. If you get a chance, check him out in the new movie "There Will Be Blood". Phenomenal performance.

Absolutely. Unfortunately, he's been so typecast in English language movies that his talent may not be apparent to all

Eastern promises (a pretty bad film overall) is especially guilty of this.

Sarah Polley is very good, I also like Romain Duris a lot, but mainly because of "the beat that my heart skipped". Another good french actor is Mathieu Almaric. Maggie Cheung has grown quite a lot in recent years.

Mathieu Amalric is unbelievable IMO. I'm glad the world will have the chance to see him perform a little more than in "Munich" with the upcoming release of Schnabel's movie. Can't wait for that one to come to America!
