Ooh, caddyshack. Great flick. Even appropriate for SF:

It's easy to grin / When your ship comes in / And you've got the stock market beat. / But the man worthwhile, / Is the man who can smile, / When his shorts are too tight in the seat.

[IMG] Ullman: When the place was built in 1907, there was very little interest in winter sports. And this site was chosen for its seclusion and scenic beauty. Jack: Well, it's certainly got plenty of that, ha, ha. Ullman: ...The winters can be fantastically cruel. And the basic idea is to cope with the very costly damage and depreciation which can occur. And this consists mainly of running the boiler, heating different parts of the hotel on a daily, rotating basis, repair damage as it occurs, and doing repairs so that the elements can't get a foothold. Jack: Well, that sounds fine to me. Ullman: Physically, it's not a very demanding job. The only thing that can get a bit trying up here during the winter is, uh, a tremendous sense of isolation. Jack: Well, that just happens to be exactly what I'm looking for. I'm outlining a new writing project and, uh, five months of peace is just what I want. Ullman: That's very good Jack, because, uh, for some people, solitude and isolation can, of itself become a problem. Jack: Not for me. Ullman: How about your wife and son? How do you think they'll take to it? Jack: They'll love it.

I grew up in the 80's so I gotta go with the movies that I used to watch incesently as a kid-

    All the Indiana Jones movies
    Back to The Future I & II {not too keen on 3}
    Goonies
    Lost Boys
    Beverly Hills Cop
    Predator
    Terminator
    Caddyshack
    Leathal Weapon
    Breakfast Club
    Top Gun

The best of them though has to be "Radiers Of The Lost Ark". What a film..

hey, having spent decades trying to reach the goal of an empty mind, the difference between hot soda and cooked soda seemed slight, in the cosmic sceme of things [IMG]

Mr. Burns: This house has quite a long and colorful history. It was built on an ancient Indian burial ground, and was the setting of Satanic rituals, witch-burnings, and five John Denver Christmas specials.
    Homer: [shudders] Oh... John Denver.

Oh, no, no, no. This is as big a difference as a PGU-14/B API Armor Piercing Incendiary round and a W-84. [IMG]

Now, that movie was incredibly racist with that character with his chop suey english and total emmasculation of asian males. I hope today's movies wouldn't be allowed to get away with such imagery.

Frankly, I never understood the appeal of any of John Hughes' work. Then again, his movies were geared towards a female audience. Definitely, not a guy movie unless you had to watch it on a date to showcase your 'sensitivity'.

Hey dude, don't insult the Donger. TTTT, it is a bit sad to see Gedde Watanabe (who played Mr. Long) on those I love the 80s shows and realize that his life must have been defined by that character.
