I'm not talking about the best movie made in the 80s, but the best 80s film. I've got to nominate St. Elmo's Fire. Its got everything you'd need for a great 80s film: great soundtrack great cast filled with brat packers (if they had molly ringwald, it would have been complete) and, it still holds up with time and its still influential. The TV show Friends is just a rip-off of the movie, of basically the same characters and archetypes a few years older. Seriously, who would have thought Demi Moore would be the biggest star from that talented cast years later. I would have thought it was going to be Rob Lowe or Andrew McCarthy, who had the potential to be the next teenage heart throb. Any other nominations?
