That's...a take. Also, in all seriousness, footwear is essentially a medical device. When a medical device proves defective, you discard it.

I’m going to have John Lobb label my bespoke shoes as orthopedic devices so I can charge the cost against my HSA.Be right back after I call my health fund to see if I can get a refund on my next pair of Lobbs...
There should be a Foo subforum with all of the Foo started threads! With all this reminiscing about Foo and seeing as though that there are so many Foo threads spread throughout SF, maybe it's time for someone to start a "Foo appreciation thread"? I mean @dieworkwear has one, so why not The Foo?

I've done that. Partially, anyway. I arranged with my maker to have line items for both "orthotic" and "shoe" and I submitted the orthotic portion.I’m going to have John Lobb label my bespoke shoes as orthopedic devices so I can charge the cost against my HSA.

All the medical literature I've ever seen on tinea pedis and fungal infections warns against wearing other people's shoes. Of course, in our 'woke' era of 'egalitatianism' and sacred-but-un-informed opinion, who cares what the science...or logic or reason...says? [#facts and logic]
And, FWIW, alcohol and Lysol won't touch that stuff. Maybe ultraviolet.
Measles is preventable.
...What's more, I have personal experience with contracting foot diseases from used (vintage) shoes. This is such a prevalent problem, in fact, that special "potions" have been concocted, and devices that emit ultraviolet light manufactured, to counteract it....specifically in "vintage" shoes but also as an ongoing preventive measure for new shoes.

When a person who is ostensibly a size nine wears a decent shoe for a period of time, the ball joint of his foot creates a socket in the insole. If that pair of shoes goes to another person that is also ostensibly a size nine, there is no guarantee that the heel to ball measurement will correspond to the previous owner's. Simply because there are a number of different heel to ball configurations that will read as a size nine to a manufacturer. Most people will not notice the difference but, in such cases, tendons and ligaments are being stretched or foreshortened accordingly and over the long term foot problems are being set up...
Let me propose a third option:I honestly can’t tell whether @GeneralEmployer is the most perfidious anti-Foo troll or a sincere sycophant.
Pretty good entertainment either way, mind.
Let me propose a third option:
