The white undershirt that SC wears under his western shirt is particularly egregious.
As SC is English, it's mandatory for him to wear a vest under a button-up shirt.

Wtf is wrong with driving gloves.
It depends whether you're wearing them while driving, or wearing them while standing beside a tree in a park.

Bryceland's Kenji Cheung pulls the whole westerner look pretty damn well I think - in a fairly wide range of levels of formality:

These are looks that I much prefer over t-shirts. Henleys are super versatile, and this way you can open a shirt over the top while still showing a V.

I have to say that I don't really consider denim jackets to be western wear unless they're worn in that way deliberately, kind of like how jeans are way past being only workwear. You can have acid-wash, alternative colours/patterns, etc. I still think it's CM, though others may disagree.

Our diasporic post-modern world push us towards a sub-group. These sub-groups are usually found online, and therefore people often feel like this online representation are the correct representation of themselves, not the "IRL" one.
we're in the "how asians wear it" part of the saga i see.
No. We're in an online global world.

And thus people seek towards sub-groups to define themselves within this.
Like western-wear and those values.

They wear it just like anyone else within that sub-group.

Let’s see if you can catch the stupidity between these two statements before someone else points it out.

StyleForum: you need to dress a u t h e n t i c

Me: *dresses like a middle class person living in the year 2021*

StyleForum: no, not like that
I know this is a joke and I shouldn't take it seriously, but I do find it surprising that just last week or so you were talking about how people on middle class salaries shouldn't be buying bespoke and now you're middle class.

I could be wrong but dont think he was referring to himself literally in his quote.

Perhaps, but he did say "me". And I did say I shouldn't take it seriously. And I know that people in the Bay Area have a tendency to have a very skewed version of what 'middle class' means.

The entire US has a very skewed meaning of middle class it could be 50k or 500k, anyone who feel remotely self made without running a business is more less middle class so it seems

Wait, @dieworkwear said that??? ROFL

Oh, man. From the same guy who took it as an affront and waged a class war against me in this very forum when I suggested that it takes many experiences with the same tailor to get optimal results. Now “ten suits” is my “binders full of women”.

Maybe he quietly learned his lesson when he woke-up in a cold sweat with the sudden realization (after his tenth commission) that every single one of his NSM jacket shoulders were indeed pa-fucked and most definitely not very special expressions of house style.

What a delicious blend of irony, truth, and justice.

The actual comment was something along the lines of: people making a salary in the low 6 figures shouldn't be buying bespoke because the maintenance cost of a bespoke wardrobe is too high.

I keep checking in here to see if you guys have started ranking George Strait records yet. Glad things have at least touched upon cowboy-themed music. Here's my nomination for official Thread Theme Song.

***EDIT***

Just realized this is probably more on the mark.
