If that term applies to anyone, it is you my friend. My roots are deep and my respect for things that are due respect, unbounded.

The term Boomer is used to describe people who write: "And that's the kind of thing that is rooted in ignorant arrogance and an appalling lack of any real authenticity. In the context of who I am, or even the context of this thread, I don't think you have anything to say."

This is exactly the kind of thing a Boomer would say.

And that's the kind of thing that is rooted in ignorant arrogance and an appalling lack of any real authenticity. In the context of who I am, or even the context of this thread, I don't think you have anything legitimate to say.

this is hilarious coming from a right-wing racist lunatic
And you determined that how?

Beyond that, even if it were true...whatever I am, it is authentic--derived from authentic sources, not just parroting au courant memes.

A sincere post:

@物の哀れ is one of the best new members on this board in a long, long time. He posts good photos. He has good taste. He's positive. He engages in discussions constructively (unlike me, I recognize). He might be too good for CM and I think he should go to SWD. Although he mostly posts tailored-type clothes, I think SWD will find his perspective interesting and he will find a more positive community there anyway.

CM at this point is terrible and if he continues to post here, I fear he will be turned away by the constant bickering over tie-less suits and Westernwear outfits. There's almost nothing good left on CM.

A more sincere post. I don't know who he is, I didn't respond to him, I replied to @comrade.

But IMO, and my 75 year walking this earth, I have learned to ask myself why such things as CM are losing ground. And invariably, I come back to an age old observation--to the extent that Traditions are denigrated and dismissed by people always looking for something novel or something a little outre'...for the shock value if nothing else; who dismiss the very idea of respect, a culture commits suicide and ends up with no values at all. Much less of its own.

As for westernwear--like it or leave it, it's a culture unto itself and valid in its own right. People who have no connection to or understanding of that culture can only mock and pretend...even with the best of intentions. Much of what has been posted above is not authentic. It's visual sophistry. Even the concept of a "Westernwear outfit" is pretentious and false.

And in that attitude, in that disrespect, lies the roots of the degradation of Classical Men's wear in general. If you can't sincerely proffer respect, you don't deserve it, yourself.
