Bespoke suits, (I have used the search function already).

Ok before you all point at the search function I have used it to death same with the "Google" search.

My problem is using the styleforum search has made it even more difficult.

I read 3 posts into a supplier and then a few people say they are crap or horrible.

Is there any out there that would fit a $600 range or so. There is a mob here in perth but they are around $800+
Money is a bit tight.

If I can't find anyone I will put it off for another 6 weeks and go with the company in Perth.

Has anyone had multiple (more than 3-4 suits) made for them from the same company with excellent jobs being done
throughout?

For anyone who feels like suggesting i use the search function do not bother replying as your responses will be ignored.

Cheers all. looking forward to some feedback even if it is negative and helps me choose to put the suit off for a month or two.

Why do you need a suit?
Why does it need to be bespoke?

Thanks for the in put add911_11 Is there any ball park figure that you could provide that would suggest what a good bespoke suit would cost?

There is absolutely no point in me spending a lot of money as I am a true blue collared worker. and would wear suits once a month to start with. I don't like being cheap but I am also a realist.

Or would you suggest I buy a good quality suit and have it proffessionally tailored?

I just want an alternative to purchasing cheap $250 suits that do not fit even close to properly as I have a large chest and broad shoulders.

1) I don't need a suit, I want a suit.I thoroughly enjoy dressing up. Secondly I am trying to change careers and would like to move up into something a little bit more professional. I figured I could get a suit to work in both functions keeping in mind it's going to be a few months before I can afford to purchase a second suit.

2) I am yet to find a suit that comes even close to fitting me. I have a large chest and shoulders, when a suit fits me the sleeves reach my knuckles.
I have an average midsecton and then large hips.
My legs are quite large as well and pants that fit me are usually tight around my legs and far to long.

If that is the case, have you consider a MTM suit by P.Johnson, they might be able to make one in that price

This is going to sound stupid but you can probably explain it add, what is the difference between bespoke and made to measure exactly? I presume bespoke is from scratch and MTM is taking the clostest measuring suit and adjusting it?

And ivyshaw thanks for the response, that was what I wanted to do originally but There is not one online suit maker that has no shocking reviews and I am a bit believer in believing a 1 star review over possible fake 5 star reviews in the hundreds.

I presume bespoke is from scratch and MTM is taking the clostest measuring suit and adjusting it?

With MTM they don't adjust an existing suit, the suit is made from scratch but the pattern is made by adjusting an existing pattern rather than being drafted from scratch.

You'll certainly need MTM with your budget as bespoke is impossible at that price.

Most people who buy suits off the rack get them altered. Most jackets are made with the sleeves quite long, and pants hems unfinished, on the expectation that the buyer will have these things altered. Shortening the sleeves or a jacket or the legs of the trousers are the most basic and least expensive alterations you can make to a suit. If you are at a store that will sell suit separates (as in, sell you a jacket and a pair of pants that are of different sizes), then you can buy pants that are a size or two bigger, so that they fit you in the seat and the thighs, and then have them taken in at the waist. This is also a simple and inexpensive alteration. Many stores will perform all these operations for free with the purchase of a suit.

i) bespoke suit involves a lot more time interacting with the customer
ii) you have to draw a pattern (the thing they use to cut out the pieces of cloth to make the suit) from scratch, rather than adjust an already existing one.
iii) bespoke suits usually involve basted fittings, which a MTM suit does not - you submit measurements and are delivered a suit, possibly with some minor adjustments to be made afterwards.

Thanks for that and I do understand. I do not know if its me, the cheap suits I have tried but when ever I get a large suit that feels more comfortable it doesn't really seem to sit right on my upper body. I know when you see models in photos the suits and things are made for them, the suits always seem to "hang" better if that is the correct term, My suit jackets always seem to hang to far out so I imagine I would need the middle bringin in a little bit. A slim fit suit still just doesn't seem to fit right.

Yes, you can have the waist brought in as well - have the tailor pin it for you or just hold it so you can see what it will look like post-alteration.
