Gents:

I wanted to share with you all a fantastic opportunity to bid on a bespoke Steed sport coat to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! I know many of you already know of Edwin and Matthew at Steed Tailors (now also at Savile Row Golf) and their fantastic work featured on the WAYWRN and Anderson & Sheppard Expatriates threads, but I cannot thank them enough for taking their time and resources to make this happen as well. Of course, I also have to thank them for the wonderful pieces (can’t wait to see you guys again in June to discuss the overcoat)! Also, I want to thank Fok here at Styleforum for allowing me to present this opportunity to everyone here.

Just some background…
I represent Society Ties, which is the young professionals group under the New York City chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Our mission is to raise funds and awareness for the LLS mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, myeloma, and improve the quality of life for patients and their families. For those interested and in NYC, we host an annual black tie casino night every February!

I became involved with Society Ties and the LLS shortly after I donated bone marrow for a 10 year old boy with leukemia in April 2013. After chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant, and a bone marrow transplant, I am happy to report he is now 13 years old and is in remission! He is now like a little brother to me! I felt like the privilege I had to donate has given so much good karma that I will never stop being an advocate for my recipient, and all of those out there who are battling blood cancers or have loved ones who are fighting for their lives.

For additional information on Society Ties and the LLS, or if you would like to make a donation, please see the following link:
www.llssocietyties.org

Thank you for taking a look, and good luck with your bids!

Best,
Stan

Awesome. I'll mention this at a site I write for, but kudos to Steed for donating their services.

Stan, do you know what percentage of the proceeds will go to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society?

I forget the exact percentage, but we have very little overhead on this auction as our group is fortunate enough to have someone working at Charitybuzz.

Also, just a little more marketing - a picture of me meeting my recipient for the first time - yall can help make this happen!

Apologies for my ignorance, but I can't decipher from the Charity Buzz page. Are you buying the jacket in the picture or starting from scratch with Steed bespoke? I assume a new bespoke commission, but the details saying "no exchange" and "this piece is new" gave me pause. Thanks and apologies for the silly questions, but I may actually bid.

Edit: @Murlsquirl back away slowly...you have too many SF golden brands that fit you well OTR.

That's actually my jacket, which is not up for sale. I assume what's being auctioned here is a bespoke jacket from Steed, to be made for the winner of this auction.

This will be for a brand new Steed sport coat from scratch. Only thing I can't promise is Edwin and Matthew personally measuring you at your residence or office :)

I signed up to bid only to find out they don't accept Discover Card. :(

Maybe worth mentioning that the winner can write off their donation as a tax deduction which, if you bought directly from Steed, is not possible.

You can only write off the amount over the retail price.....I looked into it after winning a Eidos jacket during the SF RMH charity auction.
