Bespoke shoes from vass

If anyone is passing through Beijing, I can introduce you to a shoemaker who makes good bespoke shoes. The cost is around 60 dollars. The leather is okay, though not wonderful, and the laces are poor quality. However, these shoes will last for a long time and look good. I will post pictures at some point.

~500$ for the shoes back in 2003, I wonder what current rates are? (estimate). isn't their 'bespoke' 10-20% of the RTW price?
must visit the shop next week when I'm in budapest

I'd be interesting in finding out their present bespoke rates also, especially if they're comparable to their RTW pricing.

Didn't Hungary have some kind of issue with their transition to the Euro?

How does Vass MTO compare to true bespoke? Any reason to go with full bespoke if your feet do not suffer from a major deformity other than the usual wide foot or high or low instep?

I am no expert on shoes, but like what's been written in multiple threads in this forum as in suits, shoes whatever (vass or some other brand), it just depends on the person. I think MTO is using a pre-existing model/last, but made to your general foot size while bespoke you have more control over the design of the shoe and theoretically a perfect fit for your feet. Bespoke is for people with extra money to burn or wants a pair of fully customized shoe that's as special, unique, superior as the to-be owner himself.

Correct me if I am wrong, but unless your feet are as deformed as the elephant man's face or you have the above reasons then it shouldn't be an issue MTO vs. Bespoke. One can make the argument that good RTW should be fine, too.
