If you google bespoke or made to measure shoes you will find a surprising amount of cordwainers around the UK. The neccessarily bespoke orthopaedic shoe market is somewhat supported by the NHS, which partly explains why there are so many (these makers also seem to follow very traditional contruction methods and syles).
