Hi Guys,

I recently moved to NYC. I am also longtime follower however a new poster here at SF.

Do any of you have any recommendations on custom shirt maker here in NYC. I am a medical resident and can't spend a lot of money however I currently spend up to $150 per Thomas Pink shirt and thought bespoke might be availble for the same price or slightly cheaper. I am tall and skinny (6'2" and 154 lbs) so it is hard to finds shirts my size. Let me know. Thanks in advance.

Popular NYC custom shirtmakers include

CEGO

Paris

Geneva

Of these, CEGO is the least expensive. For the retail price of a Thomas Pink shirt, at CEGO you can do just fine.

Do a search for any of the above-listed shirtmakers - you will find plenty of reviews/comments.

I have used both CEGO as well as Geneva with excellent results.

I think bespoke. If I lived in NYC, I would give them a try.

You probably don't want to open up that can of worms without defining your terms.

As for CEGO, you go in and Carl measures you. He does a good job. You can either have a shirt made in house or at a factory across the river in Jersey. Before filling your whole order, you will have a test shirt made. Wear it, wash it, wear it, wash it, bring it back to Carl. Show him how it fits. He will make any needed adjustments and then fill the rest of your order. Call it what you will. For the price and service, I call it the best shirt deal in the city. If you are looking to spend $150/shirt, you won't do any better anywhere in New York.

^ Carl's great to work with. I just picked up my shirt order from him on Friday, along with a shirt-jacket.

I suggest you buy some cloth yourself from Tip Top or Beckenstein's and use Geneva's CMT service ($125).

Barchi is moving next door to me in mid March.
Don't know much about him but Simon seems to be a nice guy.
From what I understand he is the exclusive bespoke tailor for Turnbull & Asser on East 57th.
He will be making custom made shirts and carrying Italian made shirts and ties.
If you need any more information, let me know, I'll ask him tomorrow.
