I am looking to to see if anyone can recommend me a handful of bespoke shops in Rome or Milan.

I’m getting married in November and would like to get a black Italian suit that will look great for my body type (eliminating lapel gap) and be used for other following occasions.

My budget is $2k to $5k.

I’m also in the process of cost comparison analysis between getting an Italian bespoke suit from an NYC tailor vs flying to Italy for a few days. The idea is that if an ideal suit in NYC costs me $5k, then maybe it’s worthwhile for me to fly to Italy to get a suit for $3.5k.

Also would appreciate any tips on etiquette with scheduling appointments with bespoke suit shops to try things on while comparing to see which shop I’ll go with.

You say "shop". There a numerous Bespoke tailors in both cities. A very high end "shop"
that also offers bespoke is Battistoni on Via Condotti in Rome. Even if they do not meet
your style preferences or price point it is worth a visit. It is one of the most beautiful men's
shops I have ever been in.
