I am selling an outstanding and rare,
butter soft cashmere,
3 button jacket made by the world renown tailor
Unfortunately this jacket did not work for me due to sleeve length
The working buttons (3 working, 4th is not)
limit the sleeve lengthening to about 1" to 1.5"
I was seriously bummed since this is a world class garment
The color is a slate blue with a light blue windowpane
The close-ups depict the true color best
No size listed
Measures out to a 48(or 46?)R
24” chest pit to pit
20” shoulders seam to seam
25" right sleeve shoulder seam to end of cuff
25.5" left sleeve shoulder seam to end of cuff
33” length
Was custom made for a verrrry rich man.
The condition is very good, no issues,
very light use, still fresh
Most of you clothing connoisseurs are familiar with Gianni
If not here is a little teaser
The Man with the Golden Needle
THE NAME IS A BIT OF PROBLEM: Gianni Campagna. Not exactly the last word in suave. Then there’s the way the guy looks. He’s been likened to the comic Buddy Hackett, which is not really fair to Hackett–Campagna has more chins. But despite appearances, Gianni Campagna is the hot-test thing with a needle and thread these days.
Ron Perelman and Nelson Peltz buy their suits from Campagna’s atelier in Milan. So do Henry Kravis and Uunet Technologies’ Richard Adams. Campagna’s Hollywood coterie includes Jack Nicholson and Charlton Heston. He made the suits for Pierce Brosnan in The Thomas Crown Affair (although Brioni landed the last Bond movie).
The maestro was holding court recently at the Pierre Hotel–he comes to New York every six weeks or so to take the measurements for all suits himself. The 700 or so suits Campagna produces a year are then sewn by 120 tailors, 60 in Milan and 60 in Parma. Note the low productivity–63 manhours for a suit. It explains why a Campagna suit will run you anywhere from $3,400 in super 150s wool to $12,000 in Loro Piana vicua.
