I've never had them make anything, but I really like some of Corthay's models (they're not in the US and told me I'd either have to come to Paris or go to Japan). I've also heard others praise Berluti. You might want to check out both of those.

Any great bespoke maker can make any shape last you want.

If the question is who makes it more regularly as a "hough style," then that's a different question. But a last maker is a last maker - they can make it as round or square or pointy as the customer wants.

In the unattainable category, there's Koji Suzuki. He's no longer taking customers, so your chances of having him make you a pair are essentially nil.

I'm not aware that any shoemakers have a "hough style." Some have a "house style," however.

Cleverley is probably more famous for the chisel than any other maker.

Um . . . no, I wasn't kidding.

In my experience, there are basically three responses one sees to shoes on SF:

1) The Aportnoy Shoe Damage Response: OMG, those are gorgeous. I'm so jealous!

2) The Should I Buy These on Ebay Response: They're not something I'd wear, but if you like them, go for it.

3) The Only Wear Kenneth Coles If Someone Is Holding a Gun to Your Head Response: They're crappy quality and you can do better for the money.

Am I wrong?
