For those still pursuing bespoke clothing (Chan, Steed, Mahon, Rubinacci), are you noticing, as I have, a quicker turn around time and more focus on your clothes because of a decrease in demand?

I have a dinner suit on order. We'll see how your theory pans out!

Hopefully it translates into lower prices...

Apparently, Rubinacci prices in Naples haven't changed. From my understanding, they had to raise the London prices because of the plummeting pound. Otherwise, the price disparity would be too great.

For the shoes that I ordered last year that arrived earlier this month with fit problems, no.

Prices seem to be holding steady. That's good, I guess.

In Naples they went up like 5% in Euros.

For a large operation competing with other large operations I can see this happening, but lowering prices in a lower demand economy would probably lead to extinction for a smaller operation. I can see sales on current inventory and lower production to match available spending money, but then current "inventory" would not occur in a bespoke operation.

Really? Well, at least it's fairly negligible.

Yes, the turnaround time is quicker. I just got my Gordon Yao jacket few weeks ago. It's much quicker than my last one, about half the time. May be just caused by low season for HK tailors, after Chinese New Year and before their US tour.

I was thinking about this just the other day. I'm hoping it pans out for a recent shirt order I put in.

Not for me. Ordered my most recent Chan in mid-January. Promised delivery in late February. Actual delivery in mid-March, which is a little longer than average for me for orders placed via e-mail.

I asked Patrick last week if Chan’s US business had slowed down. He said (based on NY orders only) orders were down in November but not so in March.

For Steed: things still operate according to the quarterly visit schedule to Boston. I've always had turnaround time from Edwin given that. On his last two trips he has yet to notice a downturn in business. I've certainly ordered at a more rapid pace because of the weak pound.

For MBTâ„¢: not sayin', but I've been posting a ton of new MBTâ„¢ stuff in WAYWRN...and I've yet to wear a bunch more. This stuff is mostly filling a spring/summer niche.

You care to share some prices for both?
