Belt questions

I’ve lost roughly 20 lbs since January and it’s time for a new belt for work. Im an attorney, and wear suits roughly 85% of the time. I’ve always worn reversible belts. I think that’s where I’m lacking in my “style” and would love some pointers on this. I prefer a plate style of buckle, because I like the look, but am not sure if that’s a “fad.”

So here are my questions/concerns:

Is a plate buckle a fad?
Is there a high quality reversible belt that I should look at?
If separate belts are the way to go, are the ratcheting belts worth looking into?

You could spend $600 on a belt, but why?

I don’t know about reversible belts, but for wearing with a suit, and assuming you want black, I think two will do.

Plate style buckles May be the trend, but they’ve also been around a while. Personally, I like the old Fashioned tang buckle. Nickel plated brass is my preference.
