I bought a suit with no belt loops, just side tabs, but with the material to make belt loops. Should I have em put on, or not? What are your preferences?

Here's another for leaving off the belt loops and wearing braces. Or just use the side adjusters. A belt disrupts the flow of the suit's jacket to the trousers.

Belt loops are fine, side tabs better, but better stay away from belt loops and side tabs.

Side adjusters is the way to go.

Anyone get the Daks button closure instead of the adjusters?

I've been wondering why I need belt loops or side adjusters. If you get your pants where they fit do you really need either?

I hate side tabs. I got rid of all my pants with them. I need my belt loops, I need my belt - feels like something is missing when I'm not wearing a belt

The idea of wearing a belt is the look of having a belt there...

While I vote for tabs and braces, if you do go for belt loops, have the tabs removed. They will look silly and wearing a belt over them will be very uncomfortable.

And I have a semi-OT question while we're on the subject of tabs: has anyone ever had theirs reversed? I have some tabbed pants that, when pulled taught, make the pants a bit snug in the crotch, since they essentially pull the front of the pants back. I think I would be more comfortable (as would the "boys") if instead the tabs faced the other way and pulled the back of the pants forward (there's a little more room in the seat and that's a less "sensitive" area. Thoughts?

The most recent suit I bought has side tabs, and I decided not to have belt loops added. I've worn the suit only once, but so far like the side tabs.

It's because your waist size changes throughout the day, some people's more than others. My brother has a unique diet that causes his waist to fluctuate about 4 inches during the day.

I agree with you. If I do not have a belt, I feel like something is missing. And I also think that a belt is a good accessory but sometimes it might be difficult to match it with the rest of the wardrobe.
