Belt / buckle options for raw denim (1.75 - 2 in)

Any suggestions for 1.75 - 2 in belts / buckles for use with raw denim?

It seems like somewhat of a difficult size. I've seen some from a few of the jean makers themselves (N&F, Nudie).

What does everyone use?

Taylor Supply has two nice jean belts on sale if you are a larger size.
I bought one of each color and am quite pleased.
The buckle is substantial and the belts 1.75" wide.

I made mine myself.

I bought the thickest 1 3/4" leather strap I could find, cut it, punched the holes, put in some Chicago screws, and slapped on a cheap buckle that I bought from the leather seller. A few months ago I found a Union Special buckle like this (a different type of buckle than I had before) that I liked, so I punched more holes, shortened the belt, and screwed it on.

The jean makers make some really nice options, but for a cheap, versatile, modifiable alternative, this works great.

I really like this suggestion. Not quite my size but considering purchasing and then having it shortened. Does anyone have any other options that they like which are similar?

I like this idea as well. Where did you source the strap? Who are the good producers that sell 1 3/4" straps?

I bought this strap and this buckle with these Chicago Screws. Unless you have experience crafting leather (and I didn't/don't), I wouldn't go any heavier. I ended up cutting the leather wet with an X-Acto knife (probably a horrible crime), and it was frustrating. I also bought some slim leather strips for "belt keepers," but with leather that wide and thick, I couldn't fit all that leather through my belt loops easily. You'll also need a leather punch.

A better option might be one of the "belt blanks" offered by many sites, because they come with snaps and holes for the buckle, but I was obsessed with getting heavier leather.

It took the company a while to ship my order, but it's a good strap. I was going for the natural leather so that it would stain and wear with time. It started really stiff and pale, but at this point (about 6 months) it looks pretty beaten and is pretty soft. I wasn't able to cut the ends beautifully, but when it's worn and beaten that doesn't matter so much.

It started as an experiment, but I ended up liking the rugged look, and the experiment isn't over.

I would do it for fun, but don't expect to have a great looking belt at the end. Especially the first time.

That taylorsupplyco belt looks like a good value.
