Good afternoon all.

I'm new to the forum and I'm after a little bit of advice. I know there's been plenty of threads about Belstaff jackets, so apologies for another one.

I bought this jacket online, it looks great but my curiosity is getting the better of me I want to know if I've been sold a genuine one or a fake Belstaff. I've taken some photo's. One thing I've noticed is no vents under the arm pit. Also a normal black zip, no idea if there should be a branded zip?

All the back of the buttons are engraved with Belstaff. There's no inner label apart from the "Gold label". If this jacket is genuine does it have an official name? it was just advertised as "Belstaff Wax Jacket".

I'd be grateful if anyone can help out. Thanks in advance.

It looks like a "Roadmaster" without the belt. Doesn't it have a tag inside down by the front zipper?

It doesn't have a tag down the front zipper, it just looks like a standard black zip. I have just noticed this though. There's a Belstaff label under the flap of the right upper pocket. I'll upload the photo. I'm really hoping it's genuine.

Does it have belt loops? Otherwise, could be their Leighwood or Crosby models.

Yeah, dry clean label is a huge red flag.
I checked against two Roadmasters.
The zipper looks wrong. It should be a two way. The upper pull should be a big heavy ring and the lower pull a regular tab.
They have some stampings on them but not Belstaff or YKK.
Stitching around the corners of the pocket flaps looks janky.

Thanks, I'll donate it to my local charity shop I think and put it down to experience. Thanks again for all the replies.

Before donating I would ring Belstaff and ask them a few questions just in case its from some sort of budget/export line or something.. If you are in the UK Belstaff have an outlet at Cheshire Oaks near Ellesmere Port who's staff might be able to help...

If you do decide to donate, I would use thick permanent thick marker and ink out the main Belstaff labels otherwise the coat might find its way back on Ebay…

Finally, how did you pay? Hopefully Paypal?? If you paid for it via credit or debit card, that means the scammers have your band card details which I would not be happy about...

Thanks for the detailed reply. I payed via PayPal so I might open a case and return the jacket. I'll do as you suggest and contact Belstaff first, just in case. Thanks for your comment, much appreciated.
