When shooting weddings, I want to still look sharp. I picked up one of these to carry two camera bodies. My question, however, is whether I should treat this as if I was wearing suspenders. So should I wear a belt or no? (photo is not me)

Do they hold up your pants? If not, then you still need a belt.

It wouldn't be improper to wear a belt, but I think pants with side tabs would look cleaner.

This is a joke right? The thing looks like a carpenter's belt or something for the job site. Plus the ugly thing will be covered by a jacket. Thank god.

Professional photography equipment can be heavy and bulky, probably needs something substantial like what a tradesman carrying hammers and things might use.

If you think today's cameras are heavy my guess is you've never lifted a studio camera like the RZ67 or any of the 6x6 wedding cameras. Not to mention a field camera . Or god help you a banquet camera :slayer:

A "heavy" camera today weighs what one lens used to weigh.

No, it's not a joke. I went with a belt for a wedding I shot a couple of weekends ago. Lots of positive comments about the camera strap - there are a lot of awful, "techie" looking straps out there.

This looks very nice, actually. I've seen people carry a DSLR on one side and a medium format film camera on the other. My cameras and lens probably weigh about 10 lbs each, for what it's worth... lenses still weigh the same, if not more since there are mechanical motors in them now. I'm not a professional. I just assist professionals occasionally.

Personally, I think it works as a nice fashion accessory for a photographer who is conscious about how he presents himself to clients: http://holdfastgear.com/?photographer-spotlight.html
