Hi,

I have a beige with black pinstripe blazer that I wanted to wear in the evening with a button down and jeans. Is this a fashion faux pas?

Where will you be going, who with, and what will you be doing?

Sorry, now I sound like your parents.

Your choice of answers are yes and no. Which do you prefer?

Technically you could get away with it since no one knows where you were earlier in the day.
For all they know you are coming from an earlier engagement.

I will be going out for a casual dinner with friends. I thought wearing a dark jacket would make it too formal, but wasn't sure whether I could go all the way to beige without looking like a clown.

Thanks!

I avoid it if I can.

If you're wearing jeans, it's hard to look too formal.

Save the beige linen for hot days.
