How do you remove beeswax from suede shoes so that the nap returns?

Beeswax removal

My wife the beekeeper says:
Freeze it. Put the shoe in a freezer for a few hours then pick the frozen wax off. You should be able to get most off. Then brush it well.
DO NOT apply heat. Turning it liquid only runs the risk of you driving it into the suede.
