I've been looking for a solid navy peak lapel single breasted fully canvassed suit for my wedding in December. I've been searching all over for something in my price range for MONTHS and am starting to feel I won't find anything under $600. Solid gray notch lapels are everywhere! I've been all over eBay and the SF classified for what feels like forever.....

Any advice will be appreciated!!!!

Depending on what RTW size you are, I think that your price expectation for fully canvassed and solid navy may be a bit low. I sold an RLBL single breasted peak lapel suit on B&S for more than $600 some months ago, and that was navy with a dot stripe.

Could I ask why you have your sights set on peak lapel single breasted? They aren't often found on discount in my experience.

You're right about my price expectation being low, and I've realized I might want to step down to half-canvassed. I'm a 38S so I know I won't be finding much any time soon unless I pay full price, which may well be in the $1k range that I can't afford.

I prefer a single breasted peak lapel as I like the formality for an evening reception. As the groom, I think it's a good fit.

This suit is just slightly out of my budget :worship2:

Suitsupply.com should fit your requirements. And well done on not waiting until 2 weeks before the wedding to find a suit.

I appreciate this a LOT! Is anyone familiar with the quality of these suits?

Astor & Black has a deal right now, $599 for a suit and two shirts. Just make sure you know exactly what all your measurements are because you can't trust the rep to get it right from measuring your body.

Half canvas. Good fabrics like Vitale Barberis.

That'll be another 2% commission.

I know some have had bad experiences. I have three suits and four shirts from them and I too am not 100% satisfied with them either. However, knowing what I know now, I would be comfortable using them again for one suit at that price. In his situation, he needs one suit just for a single event, not something to wear twice a week to work for two years. He can get any design details he wants and they have many colors of fabric to choose from. Like I said the problem with AB I find is that most people entrust the rep to get their fit correct just by taking their body measurements. This for the most part is impossible for an MTM suit. If he already has a couple well-fitting jackets then it shouldn't be a problem to nail down fairly accurate measurements to put together a decent suit.

For $599 he's getting a fully canvassed suit and two shirts, all the design details he wants including peak lapels (customized how he wants), pick stitching, surgeon cuffs etc. Sure it's no bespoke masterpiece but for his budget I think it's a good deal, as long as he specifies EVERYTHING and leaves no decisions to the rep.

Maybe thick as thieves? Typical fully canvassed suit is $480 shipped. Goes up to $600 depending on fabric.

I really appreciate the advice--the more options I have the better.

The below suit from suitsupply looks like it would make the cut if I had to pull the trigger quickly:

One quick wedding question for anyone that knows:
I'm obviously interested in wearing a single-breasted navy with peak lapels. Would it be advisable to wear a dove gray DB waistcoat with that suit? I've seen it recommended continuously for morning dress, but would it be applicable with that suit as well?

Check out Sierra trading post. I got my wedding suit there - Isaia single breasted, single button, peak lapel in chocolate brown. One wacked-out combination of formal and casual. Was exactly what I was looking for and everyone said I looked smashing. Suit was round $800 w/ sales I think.

Best of luck.
