I am sort of thinking the first generation might be a good thing to wait out too. But how long do we think the next iteration to come out will be? I know the iPhone was pretty fast. It seemed like just a few months.

I'd estimate around 12 months based on RIM's recent history.

If anyone is looking to switch from AT&T or another carrier to VZW, and they want to burn their contract discount right now, I'd say the Storm is certainly a great option. However, if you are expecting to pay out of pocket without any sort of discount, then the cost of a Storm may be too much. In that case, wait at least 3-4 months for prices to drop and a few of the software kinks to be worked out.

The reviews are less than stellar and it's a bit if a pain ********** to use. Too bad. I was hoping for a touchscreen Bold.

Have not even gone in to play with it yet. Holding out until I see some reviews, etc.

I'm watching vids on youtube now, and the accelerometer seems kind of slow when the keyboard switches from portrait to landscape. Other than that, it looks pretty bad ass!

There are probably a ton on the web now. I know that I saw reviews on both Gizmodo and Engadget.

It's very awkward and slow, unlike the Bold which is rocket fast. I played with the Storm for about 20 minutes and grew frustrated. Went next door to apple and did what I wanted to do in the iphone in no time.

I punish my blackberrys, but honestly, compared to some, I am a 7 out of 10 on the scale. that said, I bet you I could break that phone in a month. I trust RIM to come up with a product that I could beat the **** out of and it would still work, but my curve has been soft compared with my 71/87's and I defintatly dont trust a first gen touchscreen.

The con is the key only lights up, it doesn't get bigger like the iPhone so if your fingers are big its hard to see what you are pressing.

I thought most people typed with two hands on the iPhone? Hands generally do not hit the key without your intention. If it wasn't for the auto-correct though, of course, typing would be painstakingly slow. But with it I find it quite speedy.

I switched from an AT&T Curve to a Storm and I have no regrets whatsoever. I like it more than the iPhone that I had.
