BB/Peel & Co/(C&J?) cordovan http://www.brooksbrothers.com/IWCatP...&sectionsize=#

This BB Peal & Co boot looks like the C&J Northcote boot in cordovan. What do you think? As far as I know C&J does not make a cordovan version. Believe it's new to the C&J line, as I didn't see it last year. Looks like a nice winter boot you can wear to the office.

C&J do have a cordovan boot. It's called the "Harlech".

could be made to different standards, on a different last e.g., or with different little details

They're on different lasts. That's like saying any captoe shoes are the same but just diff colors.

They're different shoes. And that's not something you'd wear to an office unless it's a construction office. Wear low shelsea type or zipper type lightweight refined looking boots. If it's wet outside put some rubbers on. Totes for $10 or expensive Swims.
