Anybody know if the special treatments given to the non-iron shirts will prevent them from shrinking in the dryer?

you're not supposed to put them in the dryer to begin with. Hang dry, don't iron. done.

I used to toss mine in the dryer for 5 minutes before I hang them up. Never noticed any shrinkage.

It's all right to put them in the dryer. And unless you're baking them on high heat, they shouldn't shrink.

It doesn't say that at all.

These are fine in the dryer.

I never said they said anything, I'm saying that there's no reason to waste energy and make Al Gore cry by drying them. you can hang them on a hanger dripping wet, forget about them overnight, and they will be fine and dandy.

they last longer if you don't dry them in a dryer, since the coating won't wear off as fast.

and yeah, they will shrink if you put them in the dryer. that's what cotton does in a dryer.

They're supposed to go in the dryer . . . otherwise, they don't come out all that wrinkle free. I have a fair number of BB non-iron butondowns, and wash and dry them frequently. They're great, I haven't noticed any shrinkage or durability issues in comparison to regular cotton BB shirts.

After about 5-10 washes, they lose a bit of the non-iron stiffness, yet still stay very wrinkle resistant.

Why would you bump a 4 year old thread to say that? And half a dozen other threads. There is something fishy afoot here.
