BB must have slimmed their Regent cut.

I never purchased a Regent cut suit jacket from BB in the past but I understood them to be only mildly slimmer than other offerings but that does not appear to be the case, at least with some things.

I went in last weekend to see the new Milano cut, which is supposed to be their new slim line, but I left with a Regent. I was looking for a soft unstructured navy cotton blazer to replace my old RLPL. I tried on a 38R Regent and the fit is excellent off the rack, although surprisingly I had the lengthen the sleeves. The body is very trim (on the fence about getting it trimmed a little), it has an excellent buttoning point-- a tad higher than RLBL but lower than the Milano (which I did not care for). The arm holes are as high if not higher than RLBL. It's surprisingly short for BB jacket-- a tad shorter than my RLBL. I didn't think I would like the shorter jacket but it's fine and still covers the seat. Has nice brown buttons to boot. All in all, very happy with it and would recommend it. I think I'll check out their other Regent cut offerings in the future.

Also, the jacket is on sale for about 200 bucks right now during the 40% off sale.

I have a Regent GF suits and it is honestly one of my favorites. I don't know what the cut used to be, but I like where it is now.

The suits still look about the same. Maybe this one unstructured coat is a sizing anomaly?

It's nice looking. I have a couple of Fitz suits, it would be nice if they used side vents as they do in the Regent cut.

Yes, I've considered that too because I notice the buttoning point on the Milanos vary and some cuts feature both two and three button offerings. As I said, I'm going to check out more Regent stuff like the suits and structured sport jackets and see how they fit.

Thanks for the head's up. I will stop by BB to see if they're different from the last time I tried them on.

on a slight tangent - a lot of reviews on the BB site indicate that their madison cut pants have been slimmed significantly. anyone have any comparisons between the old and new cuts?

I have the Regent navy blazer and find it to be fairly slim. At least I think it looks slimmer than the Fitzgerald. To some degree or another, I think this is because it has some definite waist suppression which the Fitzgerald lacks.

Yes, waist remains unchanged, rise was reduced, seat tightend, legs seemed to be unchanged...the sales associate had a card with all the changes. I ended up buying one size bigger and had the waist taken in to get a normal rise.

Has anyone seen any Khaki-colored cotton jackets in store (regent or fitz fit)?
This regent jacket is only in navy, orange and yellow.
Another khaki-colored jacket on the other hand, has a throat latch which I don't like.

I recently received that very jacket from an online purchase and was stunned at how tight it is compared to my other Regents. That said, I don't think BB puts much effort into standardizing their cuts and sizes. I own one suit and several SCs in the Regent cut and each one fits differently even thought they're all 41L.
