Battle of the Longwings: Alden vs. Florsheim Limited vs. Allen Edmonds

There's a new longwing available from Florsheim called the "Veblen". (See: here)

Where does the Florsheim fit in with the Alden 975 and the Allen Edmonds MacNeil?

The Veblen's very interesting. At that price-point it will be hard to pass up, but I wonder how the leather wears over time.

In that last picture of the Veblens, if you said those were $40 Rockports, people would make note of the cheap looking corrected grain leather.

I love stacked wooden heels, but it may be a bit much going all the way around.
I suppose that's why Veblen is a brilliant name for a luxury shoe, by the way.

Excluding color, they're more similar to the Alden's than the AE's are. In regards to the garbage, are you talking about the leather quality? I'm still unsure if they're CG or just highly polished.
