In that last picture of the Veblens, if you said those were $40 Rockports, people would make note of the cheap looking corrected grain leather. Excluding color, they're highly reminiscent of the Alden's. Are you talking about the leather quality? I'm still unsure if they're CG or just highly polished.

Florsheim Kenmoor is the best value RTW shoe there is. You have to appreciate the American Gunboat style, which not everyone does.
