btw, why does the legend end? we all know there will be more batman movies, even if not with nolan/bale.

It's a trilogy, anything after this 3rd film by Nolan will likely be a reboot or of a different verse.

You're taking it too literally, the franchise isn't ending. Bats might just die in this film or become completely incapacitated. There will be other Batman films.

Again, Nolans Batman is it's own universe. The next one will have nothing to do this with particular one.
