I understand the comic being balanced between the two but the film is definitely Gordon-centric. Bats was an after thought.

I didn't really feel that way, but honestly the Gordon parts of the story are the more interesting ones anyways.

Really? Bats story was heavily lacking, even his screen time. It seriosuly felt like 2/3rds of the movie was all Gordon. I mean that's not a complaint really, I liked the film, it just didn't like a Batman film.

For a grandpa, you're one of my favorite posters on this board. Minus your love for Marvel that surfaced in another thread.

The comic wasn't balanced by any means either. Year One is more about the relationship between Gordon and Gotham than Bruce Wayne and Batman. It's trying to show the factors that influenced his future decisions in supporting Batman, even as people decry him a vigilante. You should really check out the Frank Miller comic and watch the film again after.

Watched the movie last night, and it practically uses the book as a script, visually and verbally. Pretty well done.

As far as Gordon vs Batman, the Batman angle has been done to death. We know about Bruce Wayne, how he become Batman, his motives etc, etc. The relationship with Gordon is something a little different, how Gordon goes from straight law and order to supporting (and actively abetting eventually) a vigilante. Gives us something new, and I enjoyed that.

Me too, I just hope they use Kevin Conroy to voice Batman. Benjamin McKenzie in Year One was horrible.

I think he was talking about the film.
But it would be awesome if Nolan subbed Conroys voice when Bale is wearing the Batsuit.
