Attending a colleagues daughters Bat Mitzvah party this Saturday and was hoping for a thought or two on this combo.

    1. Medium grey fine striped suit. Two button plain front un cuffed pants.
    2. White French cuff shirt by Brooks Bros.
    3. This Tom Ford tie in half Windsor.
    4. And because I love them these Allen Edmonds and a matching walnut belt.
    5. A black and white silk checked pocket square.

Are the shoes a bit much, should I default to black?

I'd say the shoes are a bit much but if it's on a full moon the attire will have to change altogether.

Yeah I'd say the black AE wingtip is conservative and appropriate and will look better than any KC square toe whatever. You're golden.

With a Tom Ford tie in a half windsor, I fear you will risk looking like Prince Michael of Kent

    Option 2:

    1. Navy fine multi-stripe suit, 2 button single pleat non cuffed pants.
    2. White french cuff shirt by Brooks Bros.
    3. This Kiton Tie FIH knot. Pic below.
    4. Loro Pina Square Pic below.
    5. Above pictured walnut AE's with matching walnut belt.

Too much going on at once. Here's what I recommend

-Ditch the checked shirt for a solid one
-Ditch those AE's. Light walnut color + woven material is too much. Also, not very appropriate with a suit during an evening event. Seriously, those are dreadful
-Kiton tie and SC are fine if that's your style
    -Navy suit is fine

Yeah I think I keep hoping the woven shoes will work but it ain't happening. Will most likely go with the combo described in my first post with black wingtips.

Are you looking for the party attire or you're planning to wear this to temple for the service? If it's for the service I would absolutely not wear those brown shoes. You'll be looking for more conservative attire.
