Hey guys, what's the general consensus on baseball caps? I'm a young guy and I think hats can be a nice accessory, and I think they look good on me. I wear mostly jeans and T's, polos, and button-ups, so I think it goes with my clothes. I like the plain, classic hats and try to keep the designs to a minimum (think the Pittsburgh Pirate's black hat with the yellow "P")...I also try to avoid hats with the stupid New Era symbol on the side.

I know there are gonna be some on here that say "NO. NEVER." but oh well, I'm not gonna stop wearing 'em. Just wanted to see if there was anyone else out there that wears them regularly (for us college kids) or on the weekends or something (for you 9-5ers). And if you do wear one, what's your favorite?

i consider them a fairly iconic streetwear item. i think the issue gets into specifics and deviations from the original (people tend to hate on mesh back caps, not sure if five panels are loved or hated). can get into graphic tee territory.

i really like visvim's laurel hats

and WWM's upcoming plaid mesh backs.

I have a couple of hats from American Needle. I'm 18 and I'll wear a baseball cap maybe once or twice a week, including a couple of the New Eras.

Wash them a few times in soapy water, the colors will fade a little bit and the brim will soften up. take off all the stickers, bend the brim a little and you have a perfectly wearable hat. It's more of a function thing for me and as long as you aren't trying to match your hat to your $300 sneakers, you'd be fine and a lot of people would be able to separate you from the hypebeasts and whatnot. I wear hats when my hair is looking extra bad that day, sports games, days out to the beach, or really sunny days.
