Haven't had much luck with the search function.

Anyone familiar with Baroni wool trousers? Decent quality? What about fit - are they slim-fitting?

No kidding! Hmm... I didn't realize. For some reason, I thought they were legit. Thanks for the heads up!

They are legit. Do a search. Some people on here are a little too cool for Baroni.

I find their trousers to be well made and very functional at that price point. I've picked up several for travel, and recommend them for hard wearing. Jeff, the Baroni proprietor, is a pleasure to deal with and unfailingly helpful with special requests. If my preference for quality and customer service makes me uncool, so be it.

Also, my tailor is Italian and his name is stuffed with vowels. He mutters around a mouthful of pins and is openly contemptuous of Boss/Zegna/etc. He thought Baroni just fine. Caveat emptor, but there you go.

Your tailor thought Zegna was poorly made, and Baroni was good ?
I can understand Hugo contempt but that seems strange.

He probably has more experiences with the fused Made in Mexico Z. Zegna stuff. As is the case with 9 out of 10 non-SFers.

Ok, once and for all. Baroni is crap. His "good press" has been bought by given free stuff to certain people and by others not knowing the difference between a decent/poorly made garment. If you like those pants, just go buy the Costco ones which are better made, better priced. For $300 a suit, go with Polo blue label instead.

Please: good at the price point. And Costco pants are pleated, which I despise.

Arguing on the internet, feh.

I'm wearing my only pair of Baroni trousers right now. Super 120's, brown textured. Here's my review:

I got them "on sale" for about $79 in a store in Chicago.
Allegedly they were marked down from $200.....I doubt they sold any at that price.

For $79 they are decent. They were VERY baggy, so I needed to spend an extra $20 on tailoring to get the legs taken in, and I have big legs.

They're half-lined, have a two-button + hook closure (I don't like the hook).
I actually think they did a decent job on the stitching and detail on the pleats and around the pockets. They are nicer than my Jos. A banks and not nearly as nice as my Zanellas, but the price point is closer to the former.

baroni is ebay fodder

There was a huge discussion on the ask andy about clothes, specifically baroni suits and the other faux italian sounding ebay suits

check over there

I've heard Brioni pants/suits are "fakes" that are sold on eBay.

Baroni pants/suits may be legitimate.

Obviously this guy has a number of posts but good lord but this reeks of the standard spam formula.
