The sale in LA started on Thursday and ends on the 16th. I'll be in LA next week and wanted to know if anybody had been there yet. If so, is it worth checking out ?

Particularly interested in: briefcases, shoes, pocket squares, and possibly suits.

thanks

I live in LA and went to the warehouse sale in August. It was miserable. 45 minutes to find a parking space, 2 hours spent shopping and didn't find a single thing I wanted in my size. Another 1.5 hours waiting in line to pay for the single pair of shoes my GF at the time found. Never again.

By the time you get here next week everything will be picked over anyways. Skip it.

I'll be in LA this week and plan to stop by the hangar. The few other times I've gone have been midday/midweek, so I haven't run into the lines. But, I've never found much I wanted either.

I plan to stop by Ian's too.

I don't even live in the US, but I'm trying to find a reason / excuse to get down to southern California to wrap around a visit to STF.

Ian owns a brick and mortar and webfront store. Link to the web site is above "Shop The Finest".

Very reputable, fantastic merchandise, reasonably deep discounts. He's one of the only folks who has Barba and Attolini ties online. Check out the site and you'll see that he has pretty much best of breed in all categories.

I went sat around noon. Plenty of parking, no waits. It was busy in the hangar but plenty of elbow room. I would say the selection is not the problem, it's just not that cheap (plan on 50% off retail as a starting point). The super expensive stuff, you can expect higher discount, e.g. $3500 Thom Brown mainline suits at $999, Bettanin croc shoes for $700.00. Didn't buy anything, Ive bought better stuff at Barney's regular sales.

It's on Main Street in Santa Monica, near Rose Ave.

Ian's has a much better selection of men's clothing, but the Barney's Hanger sale has more women in their bras and panties trying on women's clothing.

Yeah, there are no changing rooms, so people just pop off their tops and try stuff on mid aisle. The pros wear lycra bike shorts.

Is Ian having a sale, or are you just going down there for a visit? It is about the only place in LA to get nice Neapolitan stuff for less than $$$.
