Any hope new Barker belts will be available to purchase via Pediwear? Seems as I need few :)

Thanks, I know this page, I bought some Barker via Pediwear previously :)
But I can't find neither ABP23 (Dark Brown Grain) nor ABP24 (Snuff Suede) :(

@Elderidge : Did you ever end up with anything from the 464 last? If so, how was the fit/sizing compared to the 460? I have a pair of boots in 460 size 8, which is a great fit with some boot socks, but would probably need to size down to a 7.5 were it to be a formal shoe. Any advice?

Cheers.

Sorry bud, didn't end up going down that road. Figured I might not end up with significantly better quality leather than the professional range so went the way of my regular shoemaker, cheaneys.

I bought a pair of Barker chukka boots many years ago from the store on Regent Street in London. When it came time to replace them, I found an identical pair being sold in Russell & Bromley called the Jermyn - http://www.russellandbromley.co.uk/boots/jermyn/invt/567953 which I'm 99% sure are made by Barker.

Those boots are nearing the end of their life, and I'm looking for a replacement. I can still buy the same boot from R&B, but am considering the Barker Orkney instead. It's more expensive and appears made to a higher standard - can anyone confirm that? I'm also trying to confirm the last of the boots from R&B to ensure the Orkney would be a good fit as I'll be buying online (living in the US these days).

Thanks for any help!

I like the look of the Orkney, particularly in the cherry grain colour. Can't comment as to fit or quality - my only experience with Barker was a pair of corrected grain derbies I bought in the early 2000s that I didn't like very much.

Guys what do you think about Barker country range in terms of quality? Is it on par with Loake 1880 country boots/shoes or higher/lower?

Please enlighten us on how you "happen to know", it would be interesting to have some facts. Otherwise, all I have to rely on is my personal observations about poor quality leather (never seen anything like it in other Npton shoes), plus two bad experiences with sole structure. Why should they make shoes in India with European hides - come off it!

As far as confusion is concerned, there is none as far as I can see. Grenson do indeed make most of their shoes far from Nortahmptonshire, most possibly in India, and are equally poor quality, except for the G zero range made in Northamptonshire. As for Jaguar cars, you always need two, because one will always be at the garage.

Loake for instance have outsourced all clicking and closing to their own factory in India, even for the Legacy and Export Grade ranges. That surprised me a little bit. And yes, it is European leather that they send to India and the unfinished uppers are then sent back to Kettering. This is first hand information from Loake. The L1 and Design Loake ranges are made entirely in India. I asked at the Barker shop in Jermyn Street and they told me that only the lowest range was made in India and the others were made in their Northampton factory.

I am considering a pair of Barker chukka boots built on the 464 last, F width, but I have some doubts on sizing. I would like to compare 464 with Loake 026 and Capital lasts in terms of fitting.

I currently use 6.5 UK but I have to downsize with certain models depending on their last, I appreciate your help.

I recently bought a pair of Mcclean by Barker Shoes and I truly am in love with them. Superb quality, a bit pricey but worth every penny. Been using them for 6 months now and besides some crease(impossible to get rid of) they still look beautiful. Will update my review after 1 year but till now I'm quite happy with the quality, durability and fitting.
