Bought my first pair of nice shoes, and i was a bit disappointed by the condition of the shoes I’ve received. They didn’t even look new, so many creases and scratches, is this bad luck or most of Barker shoes comes like this?

I guess bad luck, probably these were tried in store and sold later. It can happen with most brands, scuffs should go away easily with cream and wax.

If you are not happy with them and you didn't wore them outside you could return them.

Yes already sent them back. Didn’t wear them not even inside the house. I was too disappointed when I’ve seen them what you can buy with 195£ (reduced from 325£), and ordered a pair of Cheney

195£ is good value, you can't get much better than that if you stay below 200£.

Chaney is definitely a notch above.

If you are based in UK you could go to the different shops to be sure of quality, fit and defects. You could also consider going to Northampton factory shops to get steep discounts, chaney one is particularly good.

I know this was 3 years ago. Just want to share my experience

Above is my my barker from the same handcrafted collection, they retail higher than their normal made in england shoes (around 100 GBP more).

Despite the price, it seems mine use loose grain leather. You can observe the creases. The shoes are unworn yet it has considerable creasing after just trying them on.

Below is my barker normal made in england shoes which retail just above 200 GBP. I have around 5 more pairs non handcrafted collection and all of them use good quality tighter grain leather. The shoes below had been worn +- 20 times.

I have a pair of Barker Conor boots, brown suede on the Vibram Vi-Lite sole I picked up new for €100 in my local cobblers. I really enjoy them, fantastic quality and although I wasn't sure on the vi-lite sole at first now they are my go to 'smart' boots for all seasons. The suede is wearing very well. I just picked up these in the same cobblers for €150, the Terry in hand painted rosewood. Would have preferred a Dainite sole but when they come to resoling i may go down that path. I actually like the XL sole on these as its not white like so many of the wedge soled boots.

Barkers Sutton. New seconds from their factory shop. At just £175, they were a good deal cheaper than the Cheaney factory, (still my favourite outlet). I have also bought myself a black pair.

These seem a better fit for me than many Chelseas with quite a tight shaft but roomy for the toes. I haven't worn these outside yet but I think the obvious creasing will be acceptable.

In have stopped buying Barker because of their leather quality. Lots of loose grain which resulted in uneven en coarse creases.

I'm sure you are right. I don't mind the creasing as long they remain comfortable.
