I picked up this suit at Macy's a few weeks ago because it was was marked way down because it was the last one in stock. It just happened to be my size. When I tried on the jacket the vents were still sewn shut but I thought a tailor could smooth out the rough edges for me. Now I'm not so sure.
In case you can't tell from the photos, I'm a short guy with an athletic build. I could stand to lose about 10 pounds. I have a few Banana Republic Monogram label suits that fit me well off the rack in a 38S. Most other brands that are not aggressively slim cut fit well in a 36S.
I know most of you do not like Hugo Boss, but the Akiso/Heise in a 36S fits me nearly perfectly off the rack. Maybe somebody is familiar enough with that cut to know what kind of look/silhouette I'm after.
Please weigh in on this suit. It has not been altered at all. It feels boxy in the waist, but the chest billows out when buttoned up. I've never noticed the rumple in the lower back of the side angle shots before. It may be the way I'm standing.
Is it worth spending some money on a good tailor or this jacket beyond repair?
Thanks.
K
