Barbour Quilted Jackets (specifically the Eskdale)

I'm thinking about getting an Eskdale as an alternative to the waxed cotton coats. Does anyone have any experience with these? How do they fit, how warm are they, and are they weatherproof at all? I know that the Liddesdale has a Nylon coating, so I'd expect for it to soak through in rain, but what about the microfiber coating on the Eskdales? Also, I'm looking to wear them probably through most of a mild Bay Area winter, where daytime temps don't often fall below 40.
