I'm looking for a jacket that I can wear in light rain/snow and general cold (but not subzero) temperature but still look, well, gentlemanly. I'm not looking for active wear type stuff, but rather something more wool or even tweed based, but it would need to be heavier than just a tweed blazer (unless it was heavily lined).
I'm thinking about a Barbour Challenger which is waterproof, seems heavy enough for down to 30degree temps, and still has a herringbone "weave" and looks less active and a little more refined. I'm wondering:
1. do any of you have this jacket and can comment on it?
2. do you know of any other jackets that are similar to this that I should be considering?
Appreciation in advance!

Although I'm thinking about the Olive version, pictured here: http://www.bestgear.com/barbour+bedale+sweater
